HOOKED ON SHEEPSHEAD – Introduced some clients to their first Sheepshead

I was recently blessed with a couple charter opportunities. Both groups were interested in getting on their first Sheepshead as none of them had ever caught one before. I had the rods rigged and ready to go the night before and this morning we met up and went after them! The bite was very good in the morning on the first half of the out going tide. There was a noticeable front moving in and the first hour before it fully rolled in the fishing was great! Everybody aboard was new to Jetty fishing and it wasn't long before I was tying rigs! Eventually everyone started getting the hang of the routine and before long the crew was bringin Sheepshead over the Gunnels! These guys weren't new to busting eachothers chops which made the trip entertaining! Everyone got a couple solid keepers under their belts and by noon, we were heading in.

Rigging:

We were using the tried and true, Carolina Rigs. 25LB mono leader, 1.5oz egg weights and Owner, 2/0 Mosquito Hooks. Rods were 7 foot, medium action, Star Stellar lite's. Reels were 3500 series Penn, Spinfisher V's spooled with 15 pound Spider, Ultra Cast. Bait used was the usual, live Fiddler Crabs. The bite was going off on the tip of the south the first half of the out going tide.
