The heat is definitely on. The Slot Reds and monster Bulls are running rampant in the river. I'm not sure if it's the Spring Tides pushing the fish back into the creeks or what but there has definitely been a significant drop in activity since it started.
We have been catching our Bulls primarily on large live Mullet with the occasional takes on cut bait. The Blue Crab seem to be a complete waste of money lately. Nothing has been hitting them for us. Far as the Slot Reds, The smaller Mullet have been difficult to come by with most being 5-8 inches long. With that said, it's been easier to net Pogies on the beach and use them to target the Slot Reds. They are plentiful and perfect size for the smaller fish.
